Graphic designer, photographer, musician and nerd.Tumblr (3.0; @keeny)http://alexkeeny.com/<p>I’m starting up—or more accurately—<em>have been</em> starting up a new photo project.</p> <p>It’s called <strong>Human/Habitat</strong> and it’s about the idea of home. Each photo is a portrait of someone where they feel most at home, whether that home is a place, a thing, a concept or another person. Mine is either in the water or under a starry sky; and I have heard and lined up some other good ideas.</p> <p>So far I’ve finished one shoot, and have two more lined up, but I still need one more shot within the next two weeks, as well as at least eight more total. While I’m doing this project mostly out of personal interest, it’s also for school credit, which sets a few deadlines for me. The work will be shown as part of my class in December as a collection of ten images, but I’d like to continue the work and show it at more places.</p> <p>The work will start surfacing in the coming weeks, but for now I need your help.</p> <p>If you live in Northern California and want to participate, let me know @alexkeeny on Twitter, and if you live elsewhere, just let me know what home is for you!</p> <p><strong>So, what makes you feel most at home?</strong></p>http://alexkeeny.com/post/10210146724http://alexkeeny.com/post/10210146724Wed, 14 Sep 2011 12:52:00 -0700<p>Since I’m working to build a stronger portfolio, I put word out to my friends that I would be willing to do a free photo shoot in exchange for full use of the photos. My friend Ledion was the first (and so far only) friend to respond.</p> <p><img src="http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnlf6oi4dP1qz77vj.jpg" alt="Ledion Kola"/></p> <p>We drove up the highway into the canyon and walked around the disc golf course; My goal was to be there around sunset, so we left around 7:00pm. Luckily there weren’t too many golfers out and neither of us got hit by a disk.</p> <p><img src="http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnlf9xpbHq1qz77vj.jpg" alt="Ledion Kola"/></p> <p>The light was a bit harsh when we got there, but quickly turned into the lovely golden light I was looking for. Ledion, of course, was fantastic. He let me know that he had directed his own film in Albania, so he knew what it was like to be on both sides of the lens.
